Using the Spell Checker

Pagehand provides three ways to check spelling: as you type, by selecting the next misspelled word, and by using the controls in the Spelling View.

To check spelling as you type:

  • 1. From the Edit menu choose Check Spelling as You Type.
  • 2. Pagehand draws a wavy underline under misspellings that you type.

Pagehand saves this setting with your document. The setting saved in a template is used for all new documents created from the template.

To correct a misspelling:

  • Right-click on the misspelling and choose the correct spelling from the list of suggested replacements.
  • —OR—
  • To ignore the misspelling throughout the document, right-click on the misspelling and choose Ignore Spelling.
  • —OR—
  • To ignore the misspelling in all documents and all applications, right-click on the misspelling and choose Learn Spelling.

To select the next misspelled word:

  • From the Edit menu choose Check Document Now.
  • —OR—
  • Type command-semicolon.

To show the Spelling View:

  • From the Edit menu choose Show Spelling View.
  • —OR—
  • Type command-colon (command-shift-semicolon).
